Ashland Productions is a youth-centered, multigenerational theater company that fosters self-esteem and a sense of belonging. Through a culture of welcoming acceptance, Ashland’s unique process creates exceptional performances enjoyed by the many communities we serve. Our core purpose is to transform lives through the magic of Ashland. Ashland participants develop confidence, compassion, and the ability to collaborate; they then serve as a catalyst for positive change in the world by modeling these skills to others. Ashland Productions was named “Community Theater of the Decade” and “Arts Educator of the Decade” in January, 2021 by Broadway World Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Thank you for your interest in learning more about the Ashland Productions Board of Directors. Our vibrant and active board helps set strategic direction for the organization and has oversight of the organization finances and leadership (Artistic Director and Managing Director).

Our board members:

• Serve as ambassadors for our mission and values and promote our work in the community

• Regularly attend board meetings, designated committee meetings, and special events

• Make a personal financial contribution at a level that is meaningful to them

• Actively participate in one or more fundraising activities

• Be an enthusiastic audience member

• Work in good faith with other board members as partners toward achievement of our goals

The Ashland Board of Directors meets seven times through the year, typically on Monday evenings at the theatre in Maplewood, MN (or virtually when needed). Board members are elected for a three-year term and can serve two consecutive terms. The Board currently consists of 11 members and can have up to 15 at one time, with elections occurring in July. The fiscal year / board service starts in September. New board members receive an orientation from the current board chair and Ashland leadership prior to their first meeting. Ashland’s annual budget is approximately $850K.
